Founder // Principal Designer
Erin Tubridy Gates is the founder and principal designer of Erin Gates Design and is also the creator of the award winning design blog Elements of Style. Raised in Connecticut by a self-taught architectural designer, Erin learned to love every aspect of the home building and decorating process from a very young age. Over many years Erin has honed her skill set through working in fine art curation, event planning and for other design firms. In 2007 she founded her blog in an attempt to catalog all her varied design passions into one place and shortly thereafter formed her own firm, which now designs residences from Maine to California and just about every spot in between. Her design work and writing has been featured in various publications such as O the Oprah Magazine, InStyle, Ladies Home Journal, Better Homes & Gardens, Boston Magazine Home, Canadian House & Home, and the Boston Globe Magazine among others.
Erin published her first book in 2014, the New York Times bestselling Elements of Style: Designing A Home & A Life with Simon & Schuster and her second book, Elements of Family Style: Elegant Spaces for Everyday Life in April 2019. Erin also designs licensed home accessory and rug collections, as well as various other product collaborations under her growing global brand. Erin graduated from Miss Porter’s School and received a B.A. in Studio Art from Connecticut College. She lives in Wellesley, MA with her husband, adorable son and daughter, and very bad dog.
A self-diagnosed stripe addict and blue & white enthusiast, Allison’s passion for interior design began at a young age. After tromping through open houses with her grandmother she started drawing floor plans, clipping inspiration from magazines and hoarding paint chips.
After graduating from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelors Degree in History, Allison began her career in the gallery world. After three years spent working with local interior designers to select the perfect piece of art for their clients, she shifted her career focus to that of the greater interior design industry as a whole.
With a keen eye for detail, color and planning, Allison has experience designing and managing a myriad of projects from single room updates to entire home renovations.

Eliza graduated with a Master of Arts in Interior Architecture from the New England School of Art and Design in 2015 and has been working in the high end residential and commercial design world ever since. Growing up in New England, Eliza loved exploring suburban neighborhoods, admiring beautiful homes while trying to envision what lay beyond each façade. This pastime evolved into a passion, guiding her career path.
Mixing modern and fresh with inviting and traditional, Eliza strives to create dynamic spaces that reflect both the client’s needs and our design aesthetic while practicing function over form.
Melissa’s love of design began long before her first job at a Herman Miller dealer in Houston, TX. Design flows through her family history, starting with her great grandmother, who was an interior designer in the early 1900s.
As a project manager at Erin Gates Design, Melissa has a role in making amazing design come to life and creating exceptional client experiences. From the excitement of a custom pillow being placed on a sofa to the coordination of a three day install, Melissa finds the entire process immensely rewarding.
Melissa loves traveling, spending time with her family and of course her dog, Kingsley.
